Do You Have COPD?
COPD is a major cause of illness, yet over 50% of people who have COPD do not know it.1
Answering these questions below can help you find out if you are likely to have COPD. You will have the results instantly after answering all five questions and clicking on "See Results" button.
-
Do you cough several times most days?
-
Do you bring up phlegm or mucus most days?
-
Do you get out of breath more easily than others your age?
-
Are you older than 40 years?
-
Are you a current smoker or an ex-smoker?
This questionnaire was developed by the Global Initiative for Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease (GOLD) and has been scientifically evaluated and shown to identify people who are more likely to have COPD.2 This is not intended as a replacement for a proper medical consultation or a diagnosis. Discuss these results with your doctor to see how it may apply to you.

Are You at Risk of COPD?
Many factors may increase your risk of developing COPD. Cigarette smoking and air pollution have long been recognized as major risk factors to the development of COPD.3 People who smoke tend to experience a steeper decline in lung function compared to those who are not exposed to long-term environmental smoke and pollution.4
More recently, other factors including genetic factors and developmental factors (e.g. low birth weight, malnutrition, severe childhood respiratory infections) have also been recognized as contributors to developing COPD.3 As exposure to these factors may happen at different points of time, it is now thought that your lung function trends may change through life.5
Experts are currently advocating the monitoring of lung function of both children and adults throughout the course of life.6 This can help detect poor lung health early, monitor respiratory disease progression, and promote lung health.6
You may use this free online Lung Function Tracker tool to track your lung function:
